One of the many things we all missed from our home country, Cambodia, was street food. Growing up as children in a third-world country meant having no fancy toys, no flat screened tv or tablets, and most definite no fine-dining at restaurants. Nevertheless, we did not miss anything at all, because having fresh rolls and grilled corns and street sandwiches and iced cold juices were more than enough for us. Early mornings, as roosters crowing, the smell of freshly baked French bread and steamed buns and dumplings could wake us up miles and miles away. Our happiest childhood memories would consist of waiting in line for street food vendors and cheerfully handing them our school allowance money in exchange for some yummy snacks. Our lives would not have been the same without street food for sure. So here is why we created FRESHROLL. We want this to be a place where you get to taste our happiest childhood stories, and our cultures through food. Everyone is welcome from near and far, and no matter who you are or where you are from, we all have one thing in common. It’s the love of food that is so good for our health and our hearts!
